Mark Hughes has warned Sir Alex Ferguson that City go into the Manchester derby as the team with a better track record this season.
Manchester City face their cross-city rivals at Old Trafford confident of securing their fifth straight win.
The Red Devils were upset by Premier League new boys Burnley earlier in the season and Hughes insists they are not the same team that dominated the league in the previous campaign.
"Whenever you go to Old Trafford you need to do so with confidence," said Hughes. "We cannot be in any better shape on that score."
